  • School/community sites agree to host the program for a group of 6-15 girls. Multiple teams are allowed with 2-4 coaches/team.
  • Designate a Site Liaison who serves as the point of contact between your site and GOTR Puget Sound (responsibilities are listed below).
  • Review the Site Recruitment Packet for program information and how to start a team at your location.
  • Gain support from site administrators, such as a school principal or site director.
  • Recruit 2 to 4 volunteer coaches, who must attend and complete GOTR coach training.
  •  Designate a safe, dedicated outdoor space and indoor/covered space for use during team practices.
  •  Choose your practice schedule (Two 90-minutes sessions/week).
  • Complete a Site Application.
  • Have your coaches submit a Coach Application

Site Liaison Responsibilities

PRESEASON

  • Review the Site Recruitment Packet for role description & responsibilities 
  • Recruit a MINIMUM of 2 coaches
  • Identify indoor/covered and outdoor practice space with ample running space, restrooms and access to drinking water. 
  • Communicate to GOTR any necessary site-specific paperwork such as field/space reservation, insurance, and/or volunteer requirements.
  • Complete a free background check provided by GOTR staff. 
  • Ensure coach applications and girl registrations are completed by their deadlines.
  • Assist with picking up GOTR materials if your team’s coaches are unable. 
  • Organize a pre-season coach meeting at least one week prior to the first practice to exchange contact information, discuss season details and review site safety plan.
  • If your site will offer paper registration forms, Site Liaisons are responsible for distribution, collection, and data entry of paper forms (online registration recommended if possible). 
  • Recruit at least 6-15 girls for your team using marketing and registration materials provided by GOTR. 

DURING THE SEASON

  • Assist coaches with positive behavior management and family communication as needed.
  • Serve as a substitute coach for your team if your schedule allows.
  • Communicate concerns or issues promptly via email with GOTR staff and coaches so we can best support your team.
  • Assist with end-of-season GOTR materials drop off if your team’s coaches are unable.
  • Support the team at the end-of-season 5K event.
