Financial Aid

Girls on the Run of Puget Sound welcomes all girls regardless of their ability to pay. To ensure the program is accessible to all girls, we offer financial aid based on a sliding scale. The full cost of the program is $260 for each participant. In order to cover program costs, we suggest a minimum contribution of $25 for those who can pay it. True

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Your program registration fee includes all lesson materials, including GOTR curriculum, activity sheets, lap counters and more, a GOTR t-shirt, all coach training and background checks and healthy snacks at every practice.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run accessible to all who want to participate. Our registration fee is on a sliding scale, and the registration form allows you to request a partial scholarship by answering a few financial aid questions. It will provide a suggested fee based on your family's income, which you can also adjust, if necessary. Full scholarships are available upon request. Please email program@girlsrun.org before registering to obtain the scholarship code. We are so grateful for our generous donors and community supporters whose ongoing support allows us to offer program fee scholarships as well as scholarship running shoes, sports bras and/or sports hijabs upon request.

When does the season begin?

Please see our Season Overview at the top of this page for all season dates.

Do girls need to attend all team practices in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

What is your gender policy?

We welcome children who identify as girls, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run Puget Sound relies on generous donors in order to provide scholarships for more than 60% of our participants annually. Click here to sponsor a participant this season.
