Meet Elena Cusack, our February Girl Hero! Elena is an overall GOTR champion and has been a SoleMate, Site Liaison, and Coach. She first became involved with Girls on the Run as a substitute coach while she was looking to bring it to the school she was teaching at. "One of my passions as a teacher is social-emotional learning, and I love how it ties into the programming for Girls on the Run!" said Elena. She has now brought GOTR to both of the schools she has taught at over the past few years. One of her favorite parts about leading GOTR at her school is the year-round impact it has on the community. "I regularly have past participants coming up to me and sharing about their current races and how proud they are of themselves! I love seeing how the program creates community with the participants, with their families, and within our school!" Thank you, Elena, for all you do for Girls on the Run!
