Meet Lizzy Austad, our November Girl Hero! Lizzy began volunteering with Girls on the Run over three years ago as a coach for the George Fleming Community Team, and has been volunteering ever since! She shared, "I have loved every minute! Whether we're running our Fall Season laps in the rain after sunset or soaking in the warm Spring Season sunshine, there is always so much joy." Now also serving as a Site Liaison for her team, Lizzy goes above and beyond for her community and team. She would also like to acknowledge all the people who made the community team possible. Thank you, Elaine and Marieka, for starting the team, GOTR coaches Anna, Bethany, Becca, Allie, and Monika, for keeping the team going, and the George Fleming Place staff, families, and each of the participants who remind them that there are still reasons to smile even on the dark and rainy days.
