Meet Emily Thomas, our August Girl Hero! Emily is a long-time GOTR champion and has been a coach, site liaison, and is now a Board Member for Girls on the Run Puget Sound. Having been a coach for 11 years, Emily has brough GOTR with her to three different schools and shared that "Girls on the Run has been a fabulous program to bring to the elementary schools where I’ve worked!" She would describe GOTR as being joyful, building friendship, and self-confidence.

Highlights for Emily from the last season of GOTR includes participants who had participated before, sharing that Girls on the Run is what they are most looking forward to in the school year and the Practice 5K. "Seeing the faces of joy and accomplishment after the team completed their Practice 5K," Emily said, "And then seeing them cheer on their teammates until everyone finished [was a highlight]."
