December's Girl Hero: SU PHI Nursing Students

Seattle University Seal

This December, we are excited to honor our Superstar Seattle University Interns for their phenomenal work with our organization! For the upcoming school year our Girls on the Run team has had the honor to work with ten phenomenal students through the Seattle University PHI Nursing program.

These students have already proved to be a tremendous help to our program. This Fall Quarter, interns have been focusing on getting know our organization better. They have helped with numerous projects such as site research and outreach, support with translations, site visits to assess the quality of our programming, and providing health related video resources for families. Already, their work is being noticed within our organization as we have numerous new sites eager to get involved in our programming!

Two interns within the program will work directly with Seattle University to help develop, promote, and coach at a site on the campus. The team will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity for our organization to partner with a higher education institution to bring our programming to participants in the Puget Sound area.

In the coming months, the interns will look at ways to help our organization through a public health lens and develop projects that help better our organization. We are excited to see the ideas they come up with to support us in the Winter and Spring! Look out for a handful of interns this Spring that will be helping as coaches, Superstar Supporters, or 5K volunteers.

Thank you to our ten interns for being super Girl Heros in our community!
