August's Girl Hero

Rira Moon

We are so excited to feature Rira Moon as our Girl Hero this August! Rira is a long-time GOTR supporter and a current member of the Girls on the Run Puget Sound Board. She has also had many other roles with GOTR, including Running Buddy, volunteer, and fundraiser.

When asked about her experience and how she first got started with Girls on the Run, Rira shared, “As a long-time runner, GOTR’s mission has always resonated with me. My first involvement with GOTR was as a Running Buddy many years ago, back when the 5K was held at Seward Park. I continued to support GOTRPS throughout the years and joined the board in 2017.”

Rira also shared her love for GOTR and its connection to running: “I love that our program focuses on both the emotional and physical well-being of young girls. Running has brought me so many wonderful experiences, relationships, and taught me so much about myself – I’m grateful to be able to share this love with young girls!”

Rira, all of us at Girls on the Run Puget Sound are so thankful for your continued support! Keep shining!
